Wednesday 10th June saw Yaxley juniors and Seniors set some cracking times and numerous personal bests at the first of the summer 5k series at Ferry Meadows.
First home in the 3k race was Alex Devine for the boys and Rhiannon Loutit for the girls, and there were plenty of other great runs too with James Evans, Abigail Branston, Oli Smith and the 2 Maddies (Smith and Glasgow) among others having good runs with some of them taking part in their first ever race.
Meanwhile, in the 5k race 3 more juniors took the step up to compete in their first 5k race, with Josh Yeeles and Joe Wright both going sub 20 at the first attempt and Callum Atherfold setting a personal best over the distance.
First home on the night for Yaxley were James Mogridge equalling his personal best of 16.14 and Roslyn Loutit dipping under 21 minutes in a time of 20.44.
Other notable performances on the night were from Kev Peel (just missing sub 20) Paul Atherfold and Rob Smith who both smashed their bests as well as Tim Loutit, Barbara Johnson and Raj Mondair who all either just beat or were very close to best times.
All in all a great night for the club and with only 12 days to go until the next race at Eye which is the first of the club champs, some more great times are expected!!
